using desktop and Mobile app (android) to create listings NO LONGER WORKING

I have been happily using a combination of desktop browser and mobile to create listings for a long time.

It worked beautifully, and almost seemlessly.

create listing on desktop,

click on UPLOAD PHOTOS FROM MOBILE

on mobile, press the notification  to add photos, and then take the photos.

NOW, from today, the notification on the mobile forces you to go through all the sections of the listing before you can take / upload photos.
ITS A DISASTER.

I now have to take the photos using the native camera,

upload them to Google photos

Download them from google photos to my PC

then add them to the listing on the browser.

THIS PROCESS TAKES 3 OR 4 TIMES LONGER THAN BEFORE.

Anyone else getting this REVERSION TO A OLD /  RUBBISH PROCESS?

Re: using desktop and Mobile app (android) to create listings NO LONGER WORKING

Yes, you are not alone and I have already reported to eBay Tech team a few days ago.

There are TWO features I am experiencing that further make this 'upgrade' a total shambles and perhaps you have experienced this already. The foremost being that, like you, I prepare the listing and then take photographs when I able to and edit them at some point later (I remove all backgrounds as per eBay recommendations). The issue with this is that using the App AFTER creating the listing using the laptop means that any formatting you have done in the Description is now completely undone. Formatting might simply be using the Enter key after a full stop for example, these spaces are then deleted and the sentences now run in great big line. Any Bullets or emboldening etc etc are completely removed also, leaving you to then go and tidy up what the eBay App has done.

The second point evolves around the eBay recommendation to use a white background. Unfortunately their own tool struggles with this at times, forcing you to use an alternative web or app based tool. NOW, if you take the photographs using the eBay App the photographs no longer seem to be found anywhere on my device (they used to be easily found in the Camera or Recent folders, much like a standard photograph).
NOW, if (sorry, I'll be honest, WHEN) the eBay App fails to edit the photograph properly, you cannot take the photo out of your Gallery and simply reload for another go, and there is no photograph take it to the alternative web or app.

To Conclude

The end result of these alterations and 'modifications' now means that ultimately, I can no longer use the App!!!! Just a quick flick onto a Draft contained in the App and the Description gets effectively SCRAMBLED. It 'eats' MY photographs, making it impossible to do anything with them other than what the eBay editing tool allows me to do, and if it fails to edit properly, or if I accidentally delete it, TOUGH, you have to do them all over again!

Re: using desktop and Mobile app (android) to create listings NO LONGER WORKING

My work around to this is

preparation

1 get a long USB cable,

2 plug my phone into the PC using the USB cable (accept USB permissions to do file transfer if its android)

3 open up the folder where camera images are stored, sort by date (newest first)

(have the preview pane enabled makes it easier to see which files you need, and, quicker to not have thumbnails on, use details view)

4 open up a folder on the PC in a different window (I use the downloads folder)

LISTING

- take photos of the item

- switch (alt tab) to the camera folder.  refresh it to show the new photos

- highlight them, ctrl C to copy them, alt tab to the other folder, ctrl V paste

- create the listing on PC

- drag the files from you PC folder (above) to the listing page

- edit the photos using ebay crop etc in the listing tool.

- complete the listing (using the better browser text editor etc) and hit save.

Hope that helps
