I haven't used eBay for months. Today I tried to log in using the app on my android phone but was told my app is out of date. So, long story short, I uninstalled it, rebooted the phone, downloaded the app off Google play store and installed that. But when I tried to log in I got exactly the same result.
Now I confused. Why would ebay upload an app that's out of date?

Hi @vlodec ,
Thank you for your post.
eBay announced in February " As part of our latest update, versions 6.191 and older of the eBay app are no longer supported by devices not using iOS 17 and Android 10. Earlier operating systems date back several years and are now no longer able to support the latest eBay experience. More details on this can be found here.
Thank you,
Kat

So, when it says the app is out of date, this is not in fact true. It's the OS that's outdated. Don't you agree that's misleading? Perhaps a rethink is in order.
Furthermore, while updating your own app to take advantage of the no doubt wonderful things Android 10 etc. can provide, don't you agree that depriving others of the app completely is somewhat dismissive? Or perhaps you think no one has the older Android versions anymore. If so, you are incorrect (obviously).

Hi @vlodec ,
I appreciate its disappointing that this change doesn't allow you use of the app but this is something that happens with apps and software versions on devices over time. As newer versions get released older ones can no longer be supported due to compatibility.
Thank you,
Kat
