I've had an email from Ebay suggesting that I review my security features.

As regards anything IT I am a complete idiot, so please treat me as such in any reply! Ebay have suggested that I review my security features. I've tried to do this but as it normally asks me to sign in as facebook I just go straight through without being asked for my password. However, I need to re-sign in to change things like my password etc, and it won't accept the password I originally set up for the account. When logged in as facebook I've been able to change my FB password, but that still doesn't get me to my original EB password! I've tried contacting Ebay direct to get help with this, but have just been going round in circles on their website and have been unable to either email them or indeed speak to an actual human being. Can somebody kindly help me.....in simple terms please?

Do you have another account, this one was only opened last month?

Why do you go to ebay via Facebook, that sounds like a very unwise way to do it. Can't you just go to ebay and log in, or if required use the Change password or Forgotten password link.

Are you absolutely sure that it is a genuine request from Ebay? Did it come through messagesas well as email and address you by name, not just as Dear Member or something similar.
