Hi there ebay is asking me to send them a code, but they keep sending it to a number I dont have

How do you know what number they are sending to? They only use the number that you provided in your records!! Why do they need a code?

I should have explained this better. They were denying me access to PAYPAL to pay for something I bought on ebay. They wanted me to prove who I was---which was fair enough--but they told me they sent to a code to a a telephonen number and I had to insert that code before I could continue--they told me the number they sent the code to, but it is not a number I own,so I at that point I sent in my post. ---However since then it no longer asks me to send a code and I was able to complete my purchase---------strange-----but problem has gone
