how do I cancel a bid

Hello

A definitely NO !!

See if seller will allow you to retract your bid & very unlikely & not obliged either !!  eBay is not a game & waisting a seller's time & effort is not coll either

You cannot cancel your bid because you have found another one cheaper as unacceptable in the least !!

You entered a bidding contract when you bided for item & your reason to cancel the bid is an Invalid one

The time to search is before bidding & not after

So hope that you are out-bid & if not then you will have to pay for item as simple as this

Also seller will report you for invalid bid retraction & this will be noted on your account  as there are only 3 reasons to retract a bid & this one is definitely not one

I bid I win I pay you deliver as the motto goes

how do I cancel a bid

Reasons for retracting a bid

There are only 3 reasons for retracting a bid and every bid on eBay is binding, unless the:

If you want to withdraw your bid for any other reason (eg a family member placed the bid using your account or you simply changed your mind), you'll need to contact the seller to explain what happened. The seller will decide whether to cancel your bid.

If your bid isn't cancelled and you subsequently win the item but don't pay for it, the seller may file an unpaid item case against you.

If you need to cancel a bid quickly because it was placed by someone else using your password without authorisation, choose 'Entered wrong amount' as your retraction reason and then contact us about the account theft so that we can investigate.

I bought a new three piece suite at John Lewis, but I've just spotted a nicer coloured one in Argos, and much cheaper. Off now to ask JL to remove it forthwith, and refund me.
