What kind of person?

Goes trekking up Ben Nevis when a much advertised storm is about to hit the area. Yes Storm Abigail thundered into the north of Scotland Blowing heavy rain at speeds in excess of 80mph just as some idiot decided to go walkabout up the Mountain. Members of the Lochaber Mountain rescue team were scrambled along with emergency services to put their lives at risk in an effort to find and save the Rambler from almost certain injury or death. Why oh Why do these people do it? Its the same in the Lake district where rescues are a frequent occurrence. The cost to taxpayers is huge yet still it goes on. Should they be fined or expected to at least carry insurance?

Anyone can be unfortunate enough to be caught out in the Highlands in bad weather, but to deliberately head up a mountain knowing a storm is coming is beyond stupidity. If they find the idiot he should be sent a bill for their services.

Probably the same sort that have to call the coastguard out because they let their dogs run around the clifftops here without a lead.

And the same sort that go out on lakes or the sea in flimsy boats and those that go swimming where they shouldn't and so it goes on.

I think they should be charged if they don't act responsibly.  There's no excuse for not checking the weather.  Even if they are not near a radio or TV most people have mobile phones that will show a weather forecast.

Same for idiots around the coast who don't consult tide tables and get trapped against cliffs by the high tide.  Surely everyone knows that the sea goes in and out!  It happens around here and the lifeboat has to go out and rescue them.
