I can understand it in some circumstances where a police officer is really injured but this seems like pure opportunism.

From what I have read and seen, it doesn't exactly look as though the area could have been that dark with the number of street lights that were around.

If the come to an agreed settlement figure quickly, the only ones who'll cry about it will be the lawyers.  The longer they can drag out a case, the better it is for them financially.  How glad am I that my job is of no consequence, that when I go home at 5pm, that's it.  Had I been a solicitor or a barrister my mind would always have been three steps ahead of everybody else's,, always thinking of a plan B if plan A doesn't work according to plan.

Ridiculous! It's a long kerb that's always been there, not a giant hole that should have been filled in. She should have watched where she was going. I hope she gets nothing. What injury did she get? A broken bone, or a bruise?

I despair at our compensation culture.

Can I sue for 4 new tyres for having to drive on roads full of potholes that the Council never repairs ? 😛

All that we are is what we have thought.

I damaged a wheel in a pothole that the council failed to repair.... I was paid out £1,200...

Yes!  'And if they come to an agreed settlement'.

And who advised her to take this ridiculous action. Firstly, I can't immagine this occuring before no win no fee solicitors were invented. By taking this action she is undermining the police and holding them open to ridicule.

It is difficult to work out what is worst, the police women who made the claim, the constabulary that enabled her to do so, the lawyers who facilitate this nonesense or the law makers who draft so much inept law.

For her to remain in her job they will have to ask as the very nature of her job involves ''RISK'' would anyone that pays her wages want her responding to their 999 call?! She has proved herself totally unsuitable.

This just seems absolutely stupid to me.  I must be missing something.  She was on duty, she was called to a garage where a break in might be happening, and while she was there she tripped on a kerb.  Is that right?  Poor little lamb.

When my kids were small, if they tripped over something I'd tell them it served them right, they should look where they were going.  I wonder what her mummy said?

Well bribery perhaps?! She could try suing mum too...or even the sweet factory, or even the curb makers ... must be someone who will pay her for ''RISK'' well the public did.

It is difficult to work out what is worst, the policewoman who made the claim, the constabulary that enabled her to do so, the lawyers who facilitate this nonsense or the law makers who draft so much inept law.

I cant imagine this occurring before no win no fee solicitors were invented (Oh there is a fee..nearly everybody's premiums have gone through the roof !!!) By taking this action she is undermining the police and holding them open to ridicule.

Would anyone want her responding to their 999 call?  She has proved she is totally unsuitable for the job, and has no moral compass.

She is now demanding compensation from her own police force for another accident. The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

She has launched legal action against Norfolk Constabulary following a panda car crash.

Her claims for damages for incidents just  seven months apart.

Thank you charlie.

Well she has been paid sick pay, and that can go on as long as it takes while she is sitting on her back side. That would be enough for most of us.

But not her.  As I have said I cant imagine this happening before no win no fee solicitors were invented.

A police officer is suing a burglary victim for £10,000 after allegedly falling into a drain while investigating a break-in.

Yes, compensation culture. And the no win no fee solicitors say NO fee? Why have our insurance premiums gone through the roof?  That's where the FEE is.

She appears to make a habit of it 😐

A police officer claiming compensation from a garage after she tripped on a kerb had previously sued her own force, it has emerged.

Kelly Jones, 33, is currently seeking payment from a petrol station in Thetford, Norfolk, after she tripped while investigating a break-in.

PC Jones' solicitor firm, Pattinson Brewer, confirmed she suffered a knee injury in a car crash last year.

The solicitor said Norfolk Police admitted liability for the collision.

It is unclear what settlement was agreed.

If I had to call the Police I would insist that they don't send PC "Kelly Claim" as I don't want to get sued !!!
