Tories set to give the poorest another good kicking

http://www.theguardian.com/money/2014/mar/30/poorest-homes-council-tax-rise-uk

"More than 670,000 of the poorest households in England will face an increase in council tax of £120 a year on average from Tuesday as the government withdraws a benefits safety net, a survey of local authorities has revealed"

All going to the tory plan isn't it? I see Boris Johnson wants to spend millions on water cannons, wonder why?

Re: Tories set to give the poorest another good kicking

Well seeing as the tories have sold the tories all londons fire engins for 2 quid (yep its true) water cannons are much eaiser to come by. They are planning ahead and its obvious they know they will be in power after 2015 election, making us now a dictatorship and not a democracy at all. (maybe)

Are you sure that the water cannons are not for the inevitable riots that are sure to happen?

Re: Tories set to give the poorest another good kicking

So another Tory MP is caught fiddling the books

But do you see who has stepped up to defend her

Yip the Hammer of the 'scroungers' and Dole cheats, IDS

Yip the man who wants all benefit cheats brought before the courts, and hammered, stands up to defend the expenses and Tax cheater in the press and on live TV

Did you know the evidence showed she 'acquired' over £45k, she was not due, but was 'fined' only £5k by Her fellow MPs who sat in Judgement of Her.

Now it seems she also wriggled out of paying Capital gain Tax, on Her property, but the way She did it is not allowed by Commons rules. Further action could follow

and Thats not counting Her threats to People standing in judgement of Her

But still He backs Her

You couldn't make it up

She isn't due to pay CGT until the next tax year anyway as she only sold the property 3/4 months ago. She says she will pay it if it's due. There may not be any CGT to pay as she has lived in the property and providing she's done that for a certain amount of time within a certain number of years, she may be exempt from CGT. The Commons don't make these rules, HMRC do.

As for the money she owes, when the Commons Committee for Standards considered her claim they decided she only needed to pay back £5,800 to cover over-claiming of mortgage expenses. The discrepancy springs from the difference between the size of her mortgage, which was £525,000 when she entered the Commons in 2005, and the £237,500 purchase price of the five-bedroom property. The commissioner believed she should only have been able to claim expenses for interest payments on the original 1996 mortgage of £215,000 and additional claims were outside the rules. The committee disagreed and said the claims should extend to additions to the mortgage.

Don’t get angry, get involved!

Sign the 38 Degrees petition for Maria Miller to face criminal charges.

She's probably one of the scroungers the daily mail is always on about, trouble is Dave will be dragged kicking and screaming to sack her, then she'll be dragged kicking and screaming to walk the plank

why do they need large wages when the expenses pay their way ? is that what IDS meant by he can live on 53 quid a week, plus expenses of course  ...who couldnt.
