I think one of the last of conviction politicians has finally took a bow,I met him twice and on both occasions surrouned by big wigs and other notables took the time out to listen to me and even ask a few questions! He's off now as his late wife said on a great adventure,a truly compassionate and lovely man,
I,ll raise my cup of tea in tribute

Didn't agree with lots of what he stood for but never doubted for one second his sincerity.

A lovely and extraordinary man indeed, who could also be very irritating at times with his sometimes off the wall views. Nonetheless many of the things he stood for were very sound and some have proved to come true over the years. I always liked him and enjoyed his sometimes "thorn in the side" politics. His compassion and caring shone through and he was certainly a "one off".
May he RIP with his flask of tea!

One of the last genuine polititians that actually wanted to improve life for people.

Whatever your political leanings, no one can deny his comittment to his beliefs, and his sincerity. With his sharp mind, and even sharper tongue, politics was the poorer when he bowed out. Now sadly, bowed out of life.
RIP Mr Benn.
