Today's the day.

Today is the shortest day, there'll be lighter evenings from here on. It won't be noticeable for a while but at least it's a turning point, the beginning of the end for the dark days of Winter, soon be Spring? If we have a warm period, buds will start to form and then they'll get nipped off by late frosts?

I'll be glad to see it getting lighter, sick of endless dark nights.

It'll be a while before you notice much difference. By then we'll all have endured the Boxing Day sales, the New Year sales and the endless adverts for holidays....... which used to start after Christmas, then it was Boxing Day and now they'll start before we've even had Christmas 😀
