There ought to be rules about words used.

Banner headlines usually contain words such as "Rare", "Deadly", etc but then, on reading the body of the text, you read that whatever the subject is, just isn't all that rare or deadly. OK, I realise that the headline is meant to draw you in but my contention is that there ought to be rules on what you are allowed to make claims on. For example, you can't make the claim that something is "rare" if over 25% of the population are affected by it. Being left handed for instance, isn't rare. I'm not saying that anybody has suggested that it is I'm just making the point about just how far script writers will go in an attempt to get you to buy their newspaper or magazine. Another one is the use of the word, "Deadly" You shouldn't be allowed to use that word in a headline if over 50% of sufferers live. For instance, a snake bite may kill you if it is left untreated  but then, a drawing pin could also kill you if stuck into the wrong place and left untended but you never see a headline about "deadly drawing pins being sold to schoolkids."

I know I'm being picky but I'm just fed up of seeing headlines that are not matched by the story.
