No thread about this on here, so I thought I'd start one.
My starter for ten is this: Okay, I'm not saying anybody is making anything up, but why did all these people wait till he was dead before accusing him of all this stuff? And quite frankly, now he's dead, what can come from it other than tarnishing a reputation that was spotless and upsetting his grieving family even further. Seems basically wrong to me. Why does someone always have to bring down our heroes and role models? They should have done what they're doing now ten years ago or not at all if you ask me.

Well, what a read this thread has been.
I have always been indifferent, about other people's belief systems, interested yes, a head shake occasionally yes, but not bothered to the point I wouldnt have let my kids mingle or integrate with anyone due to their 'cult of choice' or 'mainstream affiliation'. Maybe I need to thank my lucky stars that no door knocking recruiters ever actually got into any of their beautifully working brains and twisted and warped them right out of shape. I hope that those who look forward to destruction, find it, those that preach humanity is evil from birth and guilty of the sin of an enquiring mind can leave the building, and let the rest of us live in peace.

New development:
Met commanders have received a secret briefing on preparations by Scotland Yard's paedophile unit to arrest a former cabinet minister

Below is a copy of the Tweet sent by Edwina Currie in response to a question about whether or not she knew about a cover-up of Paedophile activity in the Government in which she served..
Her response is clear to see, but she does try to distance herself by adding ‘but I was not part of it.’
In her own words it shows that she was aware of criminal activity against children being carried out at the heart of the British Establishment, and chose to do nothing, and to say nothing

Joe -depends how you read that Tweet.
I didn't read it that she knew of the cover up ?:|
Rather that she wasn't part of any cover up.

I can't access the tweet! :_|

The Deputy Prime Minister has been dragged into the sex scandal surrounding a top Liberal Democrat accused of molesting women.
Amid mounting claims of a cover-up, it emerged Nick Clegg’s private office was made aware of the claims as long as five years ago.
Aides to the Lib Dem leader refused to say how much he knew about the allegations that former party chief Chris Rennard had groped a string of female activists. But last night, evidence was growing that senior party officials ran an organised campaign to silence the women and shut down an internal investigation.

Jimmy Saviles pal, Britains top RC cleric Cardinal Keith O'Brien, accused of 'inappropriate acts' by 4 priests, this is the same rabid anti-gay campaigner , who was voted 'Bigot of the Year' by Stonewall
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/feb/23/cardinal-keith-o-brien-accused-inappropriate
Three priests and a former priest in Scotland have reported the most senior Catholic clergyman in Britain, Cardinal Keith O'Brien, to the Vatican over allegations of inappropriate behaviour stretching back 30 years.
The four, from the diocese of St Andrews and Edinburgh, have complained to nuncio Antonio Mennini, the Vatican's ambassador to Britain, and demanded O'Brien's immediate resignation. A spokesman for the cardinal said that the claims were contested.
O'Brien, who is due to retire next month, has been an outspoken opponent of gay rights, condemning homosexuality as immoral, opposing gay adoption, and most recently arguing that same-sex marriages would be "harmful to the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of those involved". Last year he was named "bigot of the year" by the gay rights charity Stonewall.

Keep an eye on this as I have said before there is a lot to come out about His and Saviles time at the parish of St Patrick’s in Kilsyth

To make any abused child face its abuser and then be questioned about the abuse in front of that adult is IMHO further abuse to the child. Before I am cried down ......... I speak from experience .

Just a gentle nudge - do you have an answer yet?
28-02-2013 2:28 PM
Question for twin* (but I may already know the answer) ......
You said earlier that we lived because of Jehovah and that we died because we sinned. But how does that work with new born babies that die within moments of being born? What sin have they committed? How have they wronged Jehovah to such an extent that he decides to kill them?
I'll have to go back and find your post and put it into my next post.
28-02-2013 2:34 PM
It was part of post 301 where twins* wrote ......
"Jehovah gave us life which was meant to be perfect sin free for ever.
Through Adam and Eve sin entered into the world and because death is the wages of sin then we all will die because of sin"
28-02-2013 8:47 PM
The concept of original sin is an invention of of the Catholic church to ensure people must have the services of a priest for confession if they wish to go to Heaven.
That then gives the Church hierarchy the power to excommunicate and thereby condemning those that disagree with them to hell.
28-02-2013 9:16 PM
Actually the Catholic Church teaches that anyone, not even necessarily a Catholic, can carry out the sacrament of Baptism which absolves original sin.
It also teaches that anyone dieing in a state of original sin doesn't go to hell but to limbo.
28-02-2013 9:22 PM
You might have noticed that I am not completely au fait with the Catholic church, though now you mention it, I do remember the bit about Limbo. 🙂
Doesn't original sin mean that a person is always in a condition of sin and will need to be absolved before death?
Excommunication was a powerful weapon in the hands of the Pope to bring unruly subjects to heel.
28-02-2013 9:44 PM
Catholic teaching is that the sacrament of Baptism absolves the recipient of original sin.
According to Catholic faith there is only one sin that cannot be forgiven and that is the final rejection of God.
