I was given a leaflet with an address to send a protest to, but with some restrictions, I'm not totally against the idea.

I probably digress here slightly, but I comment on the question raised of being a burden on people; that some older people feel. If only some of the younger generation could get their Grandparents to open up about their lives, they would find some of the stories they had to tell; fascinating.............better than any book. The older ones have so much to teach and the younger ones so much to learn and coming from your own family, it makes it amazing listening. when they've gone, they take so much with them; along with a piece of your Heart.

In Holland the person who requests euthanasia has to speak to a psychiatrist before a decision will be made to go ahead. They have to be of sound mind. Also the nearest relatives will have to have a chat with the psychiatrist. All this to avoid that people would opt for it because they feel they are a burden or that the family feel they can't put up with it anymore. You can't just say I want to die and then someone comes and gives you the final injection.
A god that says we have to suffer till we die is no god of mine.

I don't know about that, LOL, but I suppose I'm probably the only one on here that has personal experience with it, and maybe can offer some more insight. I have seen both sides of the coin and I feel that you should have the choice to die with dignity and when you feel enough is enough.
I do understand people's concerns and obviously there have to be strict guidelines and rules.
