Shoudlnt eBay rules exclude the option Not to Combine Postage when sellers send together anyway.

On several occassions now I have gone to pay for mulitple items I have purchesed, the recent 8 in total, only to find when you request a total it suggests the Seller Does Not Offer Combined Postage. If this was compulsory to be put clearly in the description it might save some frustration. With three of the sellers I have dealt with in the last few weeks, all refused, some did not even reply when contacted but worse, and to add insul to injury, they send them together anyway at less that have at what they have charged, fraud or what. Some Sellers maintain that incorporated in the shipping ( postage ) cost, are handling charges ie. cost of wrapping paper, time spent packaging the item(s) etc. etc. If you are thinking of buying multiple items from the same seller, it's always a good idea to check with them first; to see if they are prepared to combine postage................if not, don't deal with them............they're the ones losing the business and you'll almost certainly find what you want somewhere else.

On the other side of the coin, I have recently bought a lot of BIN items.

I put them all in my basket, then pay immediately I have finished shopping

I see buy it now as also meaning pay for it now.

On 2 occasions, the sellers have sent refunds for overpaid postage.

I have noticed though, that it is sometimes cheaper to send items separately, due to RM`s pricing policy

ie. one item in an envelope or jiffy bag can be sent at large letter rate, but put 2 items together and it has to be sent at small parcel rate, which is more expensive than 2 large letters.

I work on the principle that if the seller does not state they combine postage, I assume they don't.

I'm with evo on this one.

If I'm buying multiple items from the same seller, then I ask and expect a reduction, and on their reply make my decision to bid.

Now, with free P&P on offer because of ebay's silly and totally unfair commission on postal charges, the Seller incoporates postal costs into the actual price, making it a minefield for both buyer, and seller of multiple items.
