Touching - That sends a powerful message.
That video is from February this year, but there are others since the Paris attack last Friday.

Another very touching video from earlier this week. I found this man's words heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time.

I don't mean to make light of the atrocious attacks in Paris last week but has anybody brought forwards the fact that it happened on Friday the 13th?It didn't strike me until a few days ago.
RIP to all the dead and a heartwarming recovery to all the injured,

That wonderful dysfunctional organisation called the UN, has just passed a resolution ( passed unanimously may I add ) that all member states should do whatever they can to combat ISIS. They're like a bunch of kids, having resolutions to promise to do better and while they're talking; the World burns. Why does this advert ALWAYS remind me of the UN's inner council of great, deep thinking, profound Human Beings.
21-11-2015 10:17 AM
I canot stand that advert. I dunno who thought it would encourage people to buy them but it'd ensure I never would.
The UN is just like a committee, the only thing they can usually agree on is when to hold the next meeting.
It's life Jim, but not as WE know it.

No, me neither, but then considering the target audience is probably under 10 years old; I'd be worried if I saw over 30's munching a Packet anyway. They probably give them out as Party Bags to UN members after meetings.........that's why they have so many meetings.......they're all hooked on "Haribos".

Can't be just aimed at under 10s, it's often on late in the evening.
The only thing it would persuade me to do is put my foot hrough the tv.

Well said that man, summed up my feelings entirely.
Well we only just did. Blimey, I thought that would never be allowed by the BBC. Certainly brave stuff from Andrew. Andrew for P M please.
And in a moving gesture Russia has given a small gift to France. A ''puppy'' to replace Diesel. I hope the puppy (Dobrynia) grows up to an enduring symbol of friendship between the allies in the fight against EVIL. Well done Putin.
And I think Diesel's death will have influence reaching even further than most might think. And reaching further than some would want. Well this is not a bad start. It wasn't in vein after all Diesel. RIP

Will this UN reolution finally galvanise the international community to act?
The council resolution “calls upon member states that have the capacity to do so to take all necessary measures ... on the territory under the control of Isil [Isis]” It also urges states to intensify efforts to stem the flow of foreigners looking to fight with Isis in Iraq and Syria and to prevent and suppress financing of terrorism.

Interesting article from a journalist who spent 10 days with the terrorists:
https://www.rt.com/news/322996-islamic-state-journalist-todenhofer/
"Todenhofer had the impression that Islamic State is still getting money and weapons from Gulf monarchies such as Saudi Arabia."
“They told me,’Even if we don’t conquer these weapons, we can buy them, because everything has a price. Most of our ammunition we get from the Free Syrian Army.’”
This is the ammunition that Americans supplied to the FSA, which is now not important, or those groups which said they belong to the FSA, Todenhofer said.

I don't know about getting money from Saudi and other Gulf Financiers. Earlier this year an article in the Economist suggested that this was not a significant proportion of their funds, but that IS largely funded itself. Of course a lot from oil revenues.
IS has a reported net worth of $ 2 Billion.
They make about $1.2million per day from oil smuggled out to neighbouring countries (it was about $2 million a day before the air strikes, apparently), and about $8 million per month from extortion of local businesses etc.
They have control over 40% of Iraq's wheat production so get the revenue from that.
They have made about $65million from ransom paid for hostages (at least $20 milion last year) and supposedly got $425million looting the Central Bank in Mosul.
A 2 1/2 minute video that explains where a lot of their wealth comes from. It's from last year but I imagine that much of it will still apply unless we hit their oil fields hard.

It's all a bit pointless though, yesterday it was Al wotsit , today it's ISIS, tomorrow it'll be some other group or another. Till our weak willed government do something about the bigger picture nothing will ever change. Tighter boarders and the ability to stop winding up those overseas would be a good start...

Andrew, and the BBC knew that would deepen the lake of bitterness. That's why I said that at my post 170. 'I was surprised the BBC allowed that'.
Are we to believe ISIS were not aware that they would not turn most of the world against them by their actions? Surely they were. And doesn't that suggest that they don't really give a toss?
Cameron has said: ''We will win'' Another ill advised comment IMO. Then what else would you expect from him?
NO ONE WILL WIN IMO. How the hell can you win this? By BOMBING? I think not. Right I might be back tomorrow with some tea and biscuits. Then who knows when we will be back nowadays? Thanks Tony B.

Have people not realised yet that the majority of ISIS are just a bunch of criminals who're using religion as a sort of cover for their operations to gain money by whatever means possible?
When ISIS appears to be wiped out, the heirarchy will quietly fade away to enjoy their ill-gotten gains and perhaps fund some other group to cause trouble around the World.

If my history lessons serve me well, the reason why the Nazi's were decimated by the Russian Winter; was because the Russian Army employed a "Scorched Earth" policy. As they retreated, they totally destroyed ( burnt ) EVERYTHING they left behind, practically down to every last bit of shelter..........the Russian Winter did the rest.
It would appear that in the face of the advance of ISIS, retreating forces just can't run fast enough; leaving behind:
Tanks
Guns
Rocket Launchers
Oil Fields.........( Intact )
Buildings
Factories
Houses
Cars
Trucks
Ammunition
Cash Money ( Gold )........to the tune of over $450 million in the main Bank in Mosul
Water
Food
..................and People........lots of them
I've heard of the expression "To the Victor goes the spoils"..........but that's utterly ridiculous.

I fear that is all just wishful thinking 😞

Pastor Who Hosted GOP Presidential debate says: Paris Victims
Were ‘Devil-Worshippers’
A Christian pastor who hosted Republican presidential candidates a week before the Paris terrorist attack says its victims received divine retribution for worshipping Satan.
Kevin Swanson of Generations Ministries said last Thursday that the 89 people massacred inside the Bataclan theater were “devil-worshippers.” Two weeks earlier, Swanson headlined his own “Freedom 2015: National Religious Liberties Conference” featuring Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee, and Bobby Jindal.
Swanson believes God will annihilate America for tolerating homosexuality and seemed to say God already made an example out of the Bataclan.
