No-one has suggested 'collected guilt'. That is your phrase, not one that has been used here. Collective guilt is vastly different from knowing the perpetrators and the likelihood of atrocities being carried out and saying nothing.

The fanatics who carried out the Paris carnage, and all others before them, couldn't give a monkey's about living in this world, and truly believe that Paradise is guaranteed by blowing themselves, and whoever strays across their path, up !

How in the world can anyone fight against that ?

By the bye...Any news from Bush Jr. and Blair who opened up this Pandora's box in the first place back in 2003 ?

You can't but some semblance of limiting immigration would decrease any potential threats.  Unfortunately OTT PC types have made this nigh on impossible (at least in the UK) and only when tragedies like this happen do they highlight tighter border controls are needed...

Although mythical, there are a lot of similarities between this legendary beast and the dilemma of how it could be killed. Although one obviously cannot interpret the remedies verbatim, the connotations / inferences are there to be seen, as are the remedies; when the will becomes such as to carry them out.

........and the remedy.

Tony Blair has apologised about aspects of  the Iraq War. Has said: ''there are 'elements of truth' in the theory that the invasion helped feed the rise of Isis.'' Yes, Blair & Bush. Just Google 'Blair apologises for the war on Iraq' for the rest of it.

Blair was warned that he was opening the gates of HELL if he started the Iraq war with Bush. Had the pair of  them needed to 'lead from the front' as leaders once did there would have been no bloody WAR. Can you imagine both of them charging on a horse? I can, the OPPOSITE way.

It should also be kept in mind that neither Blair or Bush have paid "in any way" for a decision that cost hundreds / thousands of innocent lives. In fact they have thrived since leaving power, with Blair earning considerably more money than he ever did on the "speaking / lecturing circuit AND being made an ambassador / envoy. Until people start being far more fussy about the company they keep and who they want for friends, this sick little World and its problems will continue..........invariably without those that ought to be suffering, actually doing the suffering........instead of the cannon fodder / innocents.

Yes Geo, I too have noticed a distinct lack of denunciation by these individuals, but I am sure Creeky will find us a link.

I am in total agreement with the comments re. Bush and Blair. Bush invaded Iraq because he and, it has to be said, a large percentage of the US population wanted payback for 9/11 and no other reason. Blair was widely criticised and quite rightly held up to ridicule as Bush's puppet over the invasion of Iraq and for him to be elected a Middle East Peace envoy in it's aftermath was gobsmackingly offensive to all who died in the ensuing conflict.

Without the downfall of Saddam Hussein there would have been no so called Arab Spring. There would have been no uprisings against the rulers of Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Bahrain or Syria. Admittedly Saddam Hussein, Gadaffi, Mubarak and Assad were all tyrants but the countries they ruled still had stability. With the exception of Iraq these were some of the safest places to live in the Middle East. According to Bush and Blair giving support to the rebels behind the Arab Spring uprising was all about bringing democracy to the region, what a joke that has turned out to be.

Egypt was given the opportunity of their first free election in several years after the removal of Mubarak and the first thing they do is elect the Islamic Brotherhood to power. What a huge step forward that was, now they have been removed and the country is once again in turmoil.

Likewise in Libya. How many of the hundreds perhaps thousands who have perished trying to get across the Mediterranean would still be alive today if the Libyan Army had still been keeping order and preventing the huge exodus from the Libyan Coast? How many of those who have died trying to escape Syria would still be alive, still have jobs, still have a future in their own country?

Bush and Blair are directly responsible for all this chaos and loss of life and need to be brought to account for their actions. Removal of the people who held power and kept order in the region has directly led to the ongoing rise and spread of ISIS which now we all have to deal with.

That was very much damage limitation on Blairs part with the Chilton report due out the following day, it's a pity that it's been delayed.

It appears that security guard Zouheir may not have been such a 'hero' after all.
