Clackmannanshire says -- NO
Orkney says ---------------- NO
Shetland says ------------- NO
Western Isles ------------- NO (one of the Yes camps bankers)
These are only small % of overall vote, but going well
Turn out very High
YES camp looking very glum all across the Country
Alex Salmons local area have cancelled a 'Victory party'
He has not appeared at the Aberdeenshire count, even though He was meant to turn up.

CeeDee
that picture was taken early on (2am ish) , when he was leaving His local area going to Aberdeen airport to fly south (in a Private Jet) to Edinburgh, he already knew the 'Baw was burst'

Al, yes, I stayed up to watch the first results and during the umpteen news items, there were a couple that I only partly heard. One was that Salmond wasn't going somewhere, didn't catch whether it was the Declaration of the result or his "victory" party and the other was that at one of the (at that time) undeclared results, the "Yes" campaign were conceding defeat before the count was even completed let alone declared so defeat was on the cards from early on.

I think also that it was the right decision

I wonder what he means by "At this stage"?
Does he think they're going to get another go sometime in the future?

And then to state
"I call on all of Scotland to follow suit in accepting the democratic verdict of the people of Scotland"
Who the hell does he think he is? Does he know of a secret Scottish Liberation Army ready to storm the Scottish parliament and declare independence anyway. Poor old Salmond, he will now never become President of Scotland

Stop it McB, I've just cracked a rib laughing.
Looks like the end of Herr Salmond's time in the spotlight. That's wiped the smug grin from his silly face, hasn't it ?
Will he now resign (again) from the SNP in a fit of pique and high dudgeon, and retire to his bunker on some remote island in the Outer Hebrides, never to be seen again ?
Well one can but hope. Fingers crossed.

I don't like Salmond or what he stands for, but I do think he has been the cleverest politician the UK has seen for many years. He has run rings around Brown, Cameron, Miliband and Clegg, and it looks like they'll give the Scots a lot more money and power as a result.

Here's a useful map for where to miss on your next trip north if you want to avoid the revolting Jockanese:

***STOP PRESS*** Salmond to resign.

Wonder how long it'll take the BBC to correct this?:-
"The national split of the vote was 55% for "Yes" to 45% for "No"."

They've corrected it now.

It doesn't take much Arthur, to run rings around Moe, Larry, and Shemp now does it ?
Brown has left the building.

When this first started, I stated on the RT that Salmond was a very very Dangerous Political opponent, easily capable of taking on most British Politicians and their leaders, he is a master of not answering what is asked and turning questions round on the questioner
NOT once did he ever state what his currency plan was, if Currency Union didn't happen, even though he kept telling Interviewers and opponents that "You just need to look, to see our 3 stated options"
He did the same on every contentious issue bluff, bluster & baloney
Any Interviewer who dared to disagree with Him or demand real answers, usually got His angry mode, where he showed his vicious & intimidatory side. When it then became YOUR fault for being aggressive and confrontational.
Within minutes His media attack dogs would be released all over social media to get others to bombard, the Bosses of Reporters / Commentator's / Presenters with outraged emails and phone calls, complaining about how BIAS & anti-Scottish that Reporter / commentator's / Presenter and their organisation were. The BBC in London were a major target being part of the British establishment/ English and being based in London, was proof of guilt for many of their supporters anyway.
This Man may have just pushed enough Labour voters back into the NO camp, to make the vote quite desisive and negate any Nationalist dispute over the mandate, it could have been different without Gordon Browns last gasp speech (easily one of the best speeches in British politics for many many Years), He really was like the passionate Gordon Brown of Old, that vanished under & after BLiar.
You should listen and watch this, youtube video of his speech.

it's just been said on Newswatch that BBC received over 5000 complaints about their biased coverage.

Salmond will have a huge phone bill then?

MAGS
There was a massive army of organised SNP 'online activists' who at the drop of a hat would bombard everyone & anyone with calls and emails complaining at anything they didn't like.
20-09-2014 12:35 PM
Al, that doesn't surprise me one bit.

After the claims of 5,000 "complaints" being made over the BBC coverage being biased, now there's a petition around which claims the vote was rigged and demands the referendum be re-run.
Soooooo, after Salmond gets "supporters" to infiltrate a press conference and heckle Nick Robinson, widespread intimidation and some threats to "No" supporting companies if "Yes" wins, they're now trying another dirty trick to circumvent a democratic poll?
