Romania - EU-country! - persecution of stray dogs

Here's a reality check of the situation with stray/street dogs in Romania : ******
Just appalling...

The only humane and sustainable way to decrease strays in Romania is by spaying/neutering them. This is done by providing funds for the PRIVATE dogshelters.

People in private shelters are the ones who really help the strays - they feed and medicate strays IN the streets as well as bring them to their own shelters if needed, and they go to the hellholes, public shelters, which really are death camps (dogs are caught with most horrendous means, thrown to shelter, no food, no water, left to starve to death, die of deseases or killed by other dogs), and feed and medicate dogs also there, if they just have the resources, and bring the most needy ones - puppies, injured, starving ones - to their own shelters to be cared for. The associations doing this work are under an enormous pressure, and funds are desperately needed. Public funding goes to the corrupt establishments, not where it is intended.

Please consider helping out, for e.g.
Pro Animals Romania https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pro-Animals-Romania/169207209769064?fref=ts who has a good neutering program or
HAR http://www.helpinganimalsromania.de/ (english translation on web-page).

The cost for one neutering/spaying is only 25 euros (under 35 USD / 37 CAD) !
The impact of neutering is big - an un-neutered female can have at least 2 litters of puppies a year, up to 7 puppies! And the stray dog population just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Please - share this information, the only way to change things is if knowledge is spread!
