Police dog Finn was stabbed by a 16 year-old, He's now recovering but a petition has been started calling for Police Dogs and Horses to be given the same status as Police Officers. Fancy signing the petition?:-

So no real difference to before ‘Finn’s Law’ was passed

5 counts of assaulting a police officer - 4 months for each offence

2 counts of possessing an offensive weapon - 18 months

1 count of causing injury to a service animal - 3 months

All sentences to be served concurrently 

Causing criminal damage of less than £5,000 has a maximum sentence of 6 months

Sad but it's a good age for a dog. They never live long enough 😞

I meet a few very old dogs at the lake, two are 17 and one's 18.

We had a couple reached 18/ 19. Garry, a Jack Russell and Dan , a toy poodle, but the bigger dogs, and we had dozens of them, tended not to get past 15.

Good ages those, my dogs over the years have only been 7, 14, 10 (a few) and 12. It's 8 years since I last had a dog.

We did have our tragedies. Kep died of bone cancer aged 2 1/2,  Luna of cancer aged 8, Risga run over in the farm yard by a lost tourist, aged 5, 😭 , Molly, a collie ran over a cliff chasing a sheep..she ignored the FiL whistling her back. She was 5 . Tessie was 3 when she was trapped by the Forestry Commission worker who decided it was a good idea to put a fox trap in the shared boundary fence. We had 5000 acres, so the dogs were free range . We didn't expect an illegal trap from the FC.

Yes. Up in the Highlands. No arable if that's what you mean. Acres to the sheep, not sheep to the acre. Yes, tragedies, though over some decades. Still brings tears to my eyes , some of them.

Yep, you guessed it, Police Dog Finn. That was before his injuries. He looked young and keen.
