Charlie Hebdo: 'The Republic (French Government) is guilty' - Charb's partner
7 hours ago
The partner of Stephane Charbonnier - the editor of Charlie Hebdo who was killed in Wednesday's attack - has paid an emotional tribute to him.
Jeannette Bougrab - a former minister in Francois Fillon's government - told French TV station TF1 that the massacre could have been prevented.

Her message =
Taken action against the Extremists, before their threats, are turned into action
Something OUR Government should listen to, very carefully

I heard a brief bit on the radio and I cannot quote it accurately, but the essence was that whilst most muslims in the UK are not happy with drawings or cartoons of the prophet, they also understand that it is another person's right to produce them.
They do not deny anyone the right to produce them - they just would not do so themselves.
It was said, in contradiction to a claim on the radio by one journalist that the BBC would not even show any art of the prophet or Allah, that this was not true either.

That begs the question as to where the line is drawn between "respect" and "freedom of speech". Should there be a hard and/or definite line or a somewhat fuzzy one?
For my mind, respect would be speaking and behaving in a civilised manner especially in or around people or places of worship of whatever religion you happen to be near but free to be able to reason an argument as to why you think the whole thing is a load of rubbish and to do that without fear of being hacked to death or shot..

think it might be over now

It's certainly over for those murderers but sadly, it's also over for some innocents too.

3 Terrorist ( Gunmen ) to 16 ? Innocent people, that's a ratio of 1: 4. If the good Guys are going to be the last ones standing, that minor little detail needs to be rectified.............BIG TIME !!

Absolutely brilliant article Tommy and very much in the spirit of Charlie Hebdo

If those are His views, then those are His views. However, what nobody can adequately give Me an answer to, is why don't People with those radical Islamic views; go and live in a Muslim Country, where they can live by them and exercise them. There are plenty of Muslims, that are happy to practice a religion of peace and Harmony and to live here in the West; where we can Co-exist with no problem. I suspect the Etremists / Terrorists don't want to all be together in one place at one time, because instead of trying to weed them out, one by one, they'd be more easily dealy with.

http://www.irishcentral.com/news/Radical-Muslim-preacher-says-Ireland-is-a-legitimate-al-Qaeda-targe.................................UK-based radical Muslim preacher Anjem Choudary has made claims that Ireland is, and has been, a legitimate al-Qaeda target because American planes are allowed to refuel at Shannon Airport in Co. Clare. He told the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork’s Red FM that he believes Ireland is aiding terrorism by providing fuel to planes that are en route to bombing Muslim countries, and that as a result, Muslims fighting American foreign policy do not view Ireland as a neutral country. “You allow the Americans, who are the biggest butchers in the world, to stop at Shannon Airport to refuel and go on to kill people in Muslim countries. If you believe the Americans are terrorists, the Irish government is colluding with them and aiding and abetting terrorism,” he said.http://www.irishcentral.com/news/Radical-Muslim-preacher-says-Ireland-is-a-legitimate-al-Qaeda-targe...
Don't mess with the Muslims, some Muslims say. And at a time like this Anjem Choudry is poisoning minds AGAIN.
I have news for some who at certain times should keep their mouths shut. DON'T MESS WITH THE IRISH.
The Irish people will not rely on our useless politicians to do anything about Choudry and his fellow thugs.

The main glaring difference between Islamic Extremists and the rest, is that there are no "DO GOODERS" in the ranks of the Islamic Extremists. So the sooner people realize it's "Gloves Off" time and we "GAG" the European Court of Human Rights and do what's GOT to be done..........the better.
