It seems that there have been 3 nights of unrest and rioting in Stockholm, the Swedish capitol. The area suffering the most aggro is an area called Husby which seems to be a deprived, largely immigrant suburb of the area. What I don't get is that this sounds to me to be where poor folk live. They don't have lots of cash to chuck around and yet it is here where buildings, cars and other property are being torched.

Surely the folk living there would be better off destroying the property of the folk living in more affluent areas of the city.

My head hurts just thinking about it.

It's possibly a number of reasons - they torch what they are dissatisfied with and hope to force the authorities to rehome them somewhere better.

They are just congregating in that area, the one they know, so it's easier to torch and run.

There is safety in numbers, so where they are all grouped, they are stronger and it's harder for the police to identify and catch them.
