In the world of acting ... What is a "Star"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-23352162

This could be a sad loss to the world of theatre but to say the guy was a "star" may be overstating it a tad.

To me, the STAR of a film is the man or woman that gets a notation at the very top of the listing just after the actual name of the film itself. Anyone else involved is just occupying a supporting role.

Any input from the film buffs amongst you?

You are right.

To say the guy was a STAR would be overstating it.

I suppose that is why noone has said it!!!

Nowhere in the article does it mention he was A STAR.

No point in having a sig now because it looks as though it is part of the post...  Just put dots in before sig..
