I'll try not to start another thread too soon so it doesn't come across as me not being around for yonks and then all of a sudden I'm like a hot rash.

Anyway, it goes like this:

The My eBay board seems to be closed.  Is that correct?  It seems to be almost denuded of threads and I cann't seem to start a new one.

The reason I wanted to start a new thread?

Well, got an email from eBay stating that as I hadn't updated my details on that account for over a year, would I please trundle over to my account and do so as a security check up.

This I did, using my own bookmark and not their links just in case - confirmed they had my correct mobile phone number and that was it.  I was congratulated on my amazing accumen in being able to confirm my own phone number.  I am more underwhelmed than I can even begin to describe.

Today, I suddenly get an email from "no.reply".  What kind of a dodgy set up uses an email front name like that?  Oh...... let me think............

So again I logged onto my account via my own bookmark and not using their link, only to be told, in effect, that some devious entity had possibly logged into my account and may have succeeded and I had to change my password to make sure in case it wasn't me.  I did not want to change my password because I then cannot remember them but yesterday i was assured that I had passed my security check up with flying colours and all was safe.

I mean, seriously, they do a routine security check up which involves next to nothing that's meaningful and then they tell me someone may have hacked my account - but they're not sure, but hey, change your password in case someone did log into your account that may or may not have been you.

And there is nowhere to discuss this either.

So, here endeth the next pointless head-to-wall bashing that seems to be rapidly becoming the daily norm of internet life.
