Ched Evans

Ched evans found not guilty. So the accuser now should face a comparable prison sentence for perverting the course of justice. He is tarnished for life yet her anominity is guaranteed for a lifetime. this law needs to be chhanged    She is a liar proven by a jury !

Re: Ched Evans

I wouldn't want the girl to be punished any more than she has been. She has to live the rest of her life with her reputation in ruins. Both she and Ched Evans behaved badly on that night.. Neither of them have much to be proud of, but I am glad that he was found not guilty. We had a discussion on here at the time of his first trial. This is a salutary lesson to all women that they should behave responsibly and always be in control of their own bodies and actions.

What do you mean ' punished more than she has been '    How has she been punished     she has falsely accused someone of a horrendous crime because she was trying to cover up her own actions    she should be prosecuted !

Re: Ched Evans

What good would it do to prosecute her? There are many words that can be used to describe girls like her..indeed Evo has it quite right in his post. She has been named and shamed on social media, so now everyone knows her for what she is. Hopefully whilst Mr Evans can try and rebuild his life, she can try and find some morals and rebuild hers and try and become a respectable person. I live in the Welsh valleys, and there are many more like her. I hope this case will make them realise that drinking oneself into a state where one is not in control of one's actions can lead to all sorts of predicaments and the shame that comes with them.

So what would you like to see happen to her? A prosecution costing thousands of pounds? Or have her in the centre of town so that people can throw tomatoes at her?.a public flogging? This case should be closed and both parties should be able to get on with their lives. Mr Evans has been vindicated so maybe he can grow into a person with morals too.

No she didn't!

All she has ever claimed is that she couldn't remember what happened.

Re: Ched Evans

It was the Police and the CPS who went after Evans, the Girl never ever said She was raped or assaulted

btw

If it could be found I said on here, at the time that there was evidence available, that was ruled inadmissable that would have got the charges thrown out.

Re: Ched Evans

I often wonder why those that lie in court are not prosecuted for perjury, but like any prosecution, there has to be a reasonable chance of a conviction and it has to be in the public interest.

I can understand why people would want this girl to be prosecuted, because she has cost the police and criminal services a lot of time, cost the taxpayer a lot of money, resources have been diverted from those that are truly affected by criminal acts and so on. But as people have said she didn't make the decision to prosecute, CPS did. She only presented the facts as she believed them to be - no doubt with a little garnish on them.

That said there is a young man whose reputation and career have been all but destroyed by this case and that is unacceptable. The police and CPS should be doing their jobs more thoroughly.

Probably the most important reason for not prosecuting in many cases and in these incidences in particular is that it would scare many people (women mainly) from making such allegations. You wouldn't want a situation where a person not able to prove they have been sexually assaulted, are then in danger of being prosecuted themselves and as most statistics show, sexual assault is very difficult to prove with only 1 in 14 allegations leading to a conviction. Of those that go to trial, only about 50% are convicted.

The following link explains the legal position over this case as well as debunking any suggestion that the girl in question should be prosecuted or that the CPS were wrong to bring the case in the first place.

I wonder what would have happened if £50,000 had not been offered for someone to come forward.

Is the defendant's wealth significant? Does being a "silly little rich boy" preclude you from justice?

Re: Ched Evans

A young woman goes out and gets drunk, goes back to a hotel and  has sex with a footballer who she's never met before (as far as anyone knows). Another footballer (who she also probably never met before) comes along and joins in. What feelings do you expect me to have for people who act this way? Sympathy? Compassion?

When I said I couldn't care less I meant it literally, it is impossible for me to care any less about either of them than I do right now. If there was a scale of one to ten that illustrated my ability to care less, I would be probably in the region of -4 to -5.

Hope that clears up any misunderstanding. Man Happy

So, just to make sure there can be no misunderstanding, you would not feel this way; if it had been The Pope & Mother Theresa & a Cardinal had come along and joined in. Smiley Indifferent

I think that would probably be classed as a cardinal sin,  but I'm not a churchgoer so don't hold me to that.
