Can anybody explain this? .... eBay related.

Can anybody even hazzard a guess as to how this can work?

I bought an item on Buy Now yesterday.

The blurb on the listing said that delivery would take 10 - 12 working days.

Today I get an e-mail from the seller saying that the item has been despatched today and sent by Parcelforce 48.

But then it goes on to say that delivery is expected on the 19th or 20th of Feb.

Surely a parcel posted today by PF 48 should be here on the 7th or 8th of Feb.

What's going on??

Cheers,

Steve.

Perhaps he is importing something from outside the UK to forward on to you by parcelforce 48.

An online seller did this to me recently. (not ebay), Stated dispatch from UK but imported it from Germany to their UK base then sent if by 48 hours first class in the UK. It toook 17 days from dispatch.

I hear what you are saying but my seller has my item marked as "Dispatched" in My eBay. That usually means that he has put the item in the post, not that he has notified a non-UK firm to send the item to him first.
Is confused.

The seller has his dispatch time set to 10 days that is why the estimated delivery is so long.

The fact he has already dispatched should mean you receive it in 48 hours.

A lot of sellers don't realise they can change the dispatch time and leave it on the default.
