I know that when it comes to Cars etc. that many of the modern day innovations, have come from the track and the cutting edge of Motor Racing. However, although the same has applied to Space travel and exploration; N.A.S.A. has pioneered this form of scientific advancement and it's taken the State backing of the richest Country in the World to do it...............Russia and others playing their part obviously. Richard Branson's current exploits I.M.O. are for his own business advancement, in order to offer a ride in Space to very rich clients. Keeping in mind, that the final immediate goal; is to only be able to remain within the Earths orbit, to give wealthy People the "Ride of a lifetime"...............is the current level of Deaths, associated with this programme, acceptable / tolerable ?.

If Branson's dream of commercial space travel comes to fruition it opens up the possibility of long distance travel in a fraction of the time it takes today.
Well whoopsy-doo ! In about 100 years time, Gatwick to Ayia Napa - Manchester to Benidorm in less than half an hour. Can't wait, can you ?

I won't be around to be able to take advantage of such trips - there again I wasn't around when the Wright brothers made their first flight either - doesn't stop me using aircraft that have been developed since then though.

There was once an old woman, a parrenger on Concorde and asked to be shown the flight deck as she was very interested
While she was there one of the pilots asked her when she first flew in an aeroplane, turned out to be with Bleriot !
What a comparison.

I wonder if you seriously appreciate how fast you are going, five miles up there ^^^^^^^^^ in the Blue yonder, I guess the Marsh Mallow Clouds might be shooting past a bit sharpish...........certainly the Cockpit would be an Eye opener.

Making a conservative estimate, I reckon if that was Ryanair; the excess baggage would be about £40,000.
