Hello to all our old friends and newcomers alike. Welcome to Bill & Charlie's Bar - the place to meet other posters and to sit and chat while you sample your favourite tipple. Plenty to drink, lots of joking but alas no smoking.

We are open all hours (hic) and run a respectable Bar. (Although I argued with Charlie until I was blue in the face over that one!) No swearing, spitting or drun..drunk...drunken beeeehaviour (hic). We have a couple of bouncers to hand ~ she comes in on Friday nights.

Teetotallers are welcome and will be treated as normal. I jest ~ soft drinks are available at the bar along with light snacks. And finally, please use the emergency exit when Bill rambles on about the good ol' days and put plugs in your ears when Charlie 'sings'.

Bill and Charlie had been happily married for 40 years and tales of their happy marriage were legendary the length and breadth of Kent and on their 40th anniversary, the local TV crew were there to interview them at the bar.

"Well Bill, to what do you attribute your long and happy marriage?"

"It all started on our honeymoon I guess. On our third day, we went pony-trekking , I'd ridden before but it was all new to Charlie.

We'd not gone far when she fell off and of course, it was the pony's fault but she just stroked it on the nose and said as it was the first time so it was OK and climbed back on. After a few minutes, it threw her off again but Charlie just got up, dusted herself down, stroked it's nose saying that it was only the second time and climbed back on.

When the pony threw her the third time, she got a pistol out of her handbag and just shot it dead.

I was shocked and shouted at her You vicious idiot, you killed that poor pony, are you mad or what?

She just looked at me and said This is your first time.

That's it, we've been happy ever since."
