Hello to all our old friends and newcomers alike. Welcome to Bill & Charlie's Bar - the place to meet other posters and to sit and chat while you sample your favourite tipple. Plenty to drink, lots of joking but alas no smoking.

We are open all hours (hic) and run a respectable Bar. (Although I argued with Charlie until I was blue in the face over that one!) No swearing, spitting or drun..drunk...drunken beeeehaviour (hic). We have a couple of bouncers to hand ~ she comes in on Friday nights.

Teetotallers are welcome and will be treated as normal. I jest ~ soft drinks are available at the bar along with light snacks. And finally, please use the emergency exit when Bill rambles on about the good ol' days and put plugs in your ears when Charlie 'sings'.

I had to uninstall a trial version of Malwarebytes to get them back! :_|

Builders have just left.

So at this moment all the paving in the front has been dug out and if all goes well the paving will be done tomorrow. I have a banister on my stairs now (not that I wanted one, as I had a handrail on the other side...bleeping health and safety!), without spindles for the moment..will get those tomorrow and we took all the laminate up in the kitchen ourselves, as they are making some changes in there as well

Friday I'm getting the electrician in to do a part rewire.

I must say, they are moving pretty fast, so hopefully I will get my house back in order very soon again.

They are all very nice guys and that makes it all more easy.

Ordered my new cooker, which will arrive on Friday. That will be a blessing as the old one has only one setting left....burn it...or eat it raw.:^O

I will keep the new cooker clean, don't you worry.

The other one is 14 years old and I kept it in a reasonable state...although I did give up on the oven last year.....it's not my most favourite job....a bit like ironing...:_|

It's is indeed going well so far, although I almost whacked my face a few times on the new pillar from the banister....I'm sure it's too high..I'll have a word with the joiner tomorrow....because obviously the health and safety issue is debatable in this case.

More likely she's catching up with all that gardening..it has been lovely weather down here for the last few days.

Yes it's nice that this whole process with the house is a lot less stressful than I had thought. I was absolutely dreading it.

I feel I still have some control left about my "own" house and it has taken away a lot of anxiety.

I'm very happy with how this housing association is dealing with it. They take our taste and feelings serious, which feels a bit like a plaster on all our wounds. 🙂

They discuss everything with us and are happy to leave us to do some jobs, which we prefer to do ourselves. (like some stuff in the garden and also any patching of plaster that needs doing after they have finished the work). We're saving them money and time with that of course as well.

They can see we're not cowboys (:-p) and have always looked after the property.
