I've got the LP " Pictures at an exhibition " by Emerson, Lake & Palmer.......good album. Shame to get that low in life, that you see suicide as a way out; people forget that we are all our own best friends and our own worse enemies.......the choice is ours.

I saw The Nice at this show in 1967, probably the best gig line up I've ever seen.  Jimi Hendrix, The Move and Pink Floyd all on the same bill, an incredible night.

RIP Keith Smiley Sad

Amazing I was at that concert with my late brother, Small world innit.

Another passes on this time by his own hand, shame so many are drawn to suicide, I see know reason to queue jump but there is no doubt for many life sucks beyond belief RIP

How dreadfully sad. They used to travel from gig to gig in three large articulated lorries, each one with the surname of the band emblazoned on the roof.

RIP Keith. Smiley Sad

They don't make them like that anymore, JD Linklater. ELP, ELO, The Nice, The Move, Pink Floyd, etc. Now they're all bland, wishy-washy, and instantly forgettable.

Are you a Coventry kid too archie? Did you go to the same venue? I remember Outer Limit were a Coventry band and they opened the show and Amen Corner had a van breakdown and didn't show up. The crowd weren't  best impressed with 'The' Pink Floyd, they'd recently spent time in the charts with Arnold Lane and See Emily Play and I think the crowd were expecting a string of similar poppy sounding stuff. They finished off with a 12 minute version of Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun and most of the audience were totally bewildered by it all.

Happy days Smiley Very Happy

Nuneaton JD and a certain School midway which had a bit of a reputation😏

Between the Coventry theatre, the Co-op hall and the De. montford we had some great nights. School even had the Spencer Davis group.

Grand days long since gone.

Coventry's only other decent venue was the Lanchester Polytechnic, saw some top shows there too.  One night Jethro Tull on the same bill as Donovan and The Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart, another storming good night.

He used to play a guitar and sing on the Tonight program, Born in Guyana and one of the first regular Black performers.

Yes I do remember him on the Tonight program, he was previously a stage show performer. He was the first person to record 'Feelin' Good' made famous by Nina Simone among others, think it was from an Anthony Newley West End production
