Rest in peace Steven Hawkings
At least you will soon have all the missing pieces to all your scientific puzzles fitted into place, and have the chance to live a life physically free as well as mentally brilliant. Xxxx

Busty..Stephen Hawking was an atheist. He likened the brain to a computer that ceases to function when it's components fail. He said 'There is no heaven for broken down computers..that is a fairy story for people who are afraid of the dark'.
Very well put, I think. I expect you will say that he has already had a wonderful surprise because he was wrong.

Was there any need for that comment astro, or am I not welcome to leave condolences now?

Of course ..condolences are always welcome. I wasn't being offensive in any way. In your post you intimated that all has become clear to Stephen Hawking now that he has died. I was just pointing out that he was an Atheist, so didn't have any expectations of clarity after death. I rather liked the way that he described his views on any form of life after death. He was a scientist after all, and scientists , in general, have a very pragmatic view of life after death.
I.m sorry that you found my comment unnecessary...I thought it quite relevant in response to your post. It is tragic in a way that we have lost the benefit of his intellect, but we can all be grateful that he was here and for his work.

“I believe the simplest explanation is, there is no God. No one created the universe and no one directs our fate. This leads me to a profound realisation that there probably is no heaven and no afterlife either. We have this one life to appreciate the grand design of the universe and for that, I am extremely grateful.”
“Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. However difficult life may seem there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don’t just give up.”
He was an inspiration to many, not least his determination in the face of major physical disadvantages, and what an extraordinary mind he had. I went to a lecture he gave at Imperial College and he made the audience feel that they understood everything in spite of some of it being mind-boggling!!
So long, RIP Stephen

Another funny Man CD,
RIP Jim Bowen.
I don't watch much TV because I find it so boring, but I used to love watching the darts. I used to play quite a bit.

Astro, you said "I expect you will say that he has already had a wonderful surprise because he was wrong"
No astro that is not what I said.
I did say "At least you will soon have all the missing pieces to all your scientific puzzles fitted into place, and have the chance to live a life physically free as well as mentally brilliant. Xxxx"
Nothing to do with already had things come clear, and me revelling in the fact he was wrong.
I was actually stating my joy that a wonderful mind and person like him would soon be able to enjoy a life physically with a healthy body as well as a good mind and his scientific puzzles would be made complete.

Reports on the Internet yesterday, that said, Animal the Drummer with the Electric Mayhem Band, had died, have been denied by His handlers and other members of the Band

More semantics..
'Death' = end of life = no functional body and no functional brain = no enjoyment of any form of life.
Contrary to what any of your JW tracts tell you, this is what I believe..so it must be true.🙂

Fair enough Astro,
But please don't assume I revel in the thought I could be right.
That is the trouble with so many and the written word. Assumptions!! ![]()
