Actor Geoffrey Bayldon best known for playing the character of Catweazle in the 1970s. I cannot remember the programe very much but I do know that it was a firm favourite with me. R.I.P. Mr Bayldon.

Thank you right then petal. That led me onto youtube where I found lots of old episodes. I just watched series one, episode one, and when I have some more time, I shall catch up on a few more. I can see why I loved it, its a gentle, charming comedy about a wizard from the middle ages transported into modern (1970s) time.
He should have gone long ago. I heard on TV that it has cost the taxpayer over 14 million pounds over the years keeping him locked up - what a waste of money.
