What the smeg is going on?
It's a TV show, not a live broadcast. If there's a major issue, just edit it out before the final take. Problem solved.
So then the story is leaked to the newspapers, etc.
I think the report isn't so much about Clarkson's antics but more about Top Gear and he BBC's inability to control a leak.
By the way ....... 'Morning all

More seems to be coming out about the fracas at the hotel.
It seems that not only was the "team" late getting back to the hotel after filming being delayed by Clarkson being "in the pub", it's now been revealed that there was a late start due to Clarkson not getting up on time :-

What's the name of this hotel? - sounds worse than Fawlty Towers!!!
Not surprised that the guy who booked it was threatened with losing his job!

Most good hotels have a thing called room service 🙂

I think any hotel where Lord Clarkson is staying should be forced to have the restaurant OPEN on a twenty four hour basis, in order that his nibs can just swan in whenever he feels like it. Room service wouldn't wash with him. He has to been seen by his public, preferably with his entourage in tow. Good grief, are you not aware that the man is a famous television celebrity, and an expert on cars ?

"Jeremy Clarkson's contract will not be renewed... ." SOURCE
That is not the same as being sacked. In fact technically he is still employed (if he ever was) by the BBC as his contract doesn't end for a number of days or weeks, depending the commentator.
The fact that it has been admitted that he actually physically assaulted the other person involved in this "fracas" gives meaning to the plethora of supporters petitioning and voicing their hope that "the situation can be resolved" without dismissal.
What we accept and allow in actuality governs the world we create for everyone to live in.
Fudge anyone?

Interesting take on the story and the BBC

Interesting indeed.
Still, it will probably harm the BBC more than Clarkson. Their most profitable programme almost certainly won't be in future. (I'm unlikely to watch it again for one. HIGNFY survived without Angus Deayton, so they probably reckon they can pull it off again, but what they are failing to realise is people watched TG who genuinely are not interested in the subject matter, ie cars.)

Personally I don't find Clarkson amusing or rate the show but feel he is being used as little more than a scapegoat for far bigger issues. This has been building up for years and how he's escaped the extreme political correctness forced upon the majority of the UK is quite hard to fathom. The girl fight that all this clearly was (as opposed to actual bodily harm or GBH) is merely the straw that broke the camel's back and he's been binned as a result. He needn't worry, Sky or ITV will pick him up for a far bigger paycheck and the BBC can go back to protecting nonces and pushing their blinkered politcal agenda.

Perhaps, if Clarkson had stood about with his hands on his hips, and looked gay, the BBC would've kept him on?

After watching the following video all the way through, perhaps you might think that this young lady would be a worthy candidate for presenting TG in the future?:-
