Hi all, pippy_oak here, posting under my brand new user name. Hopefully, Richard will pin this thread, as it seems a nice tidy place to pose specific questions about a book (Is it a 1st edition, what's it worth, where to find it etc. etc.) Don't just come here with a question. If you think you have the answer, then let's hear it.

Or we could just mooch around and learn a few things.

it was a new one on me, too. Apparently Patrick Woodroffe is a collectible artist, and the few copies of this book I can find, seem to be at scary prices.

I recently purchased, Magic's Price - Lackey - 1992, pb. It is in very good condition - looks unread.

Inside the front cover is stamped, PULP COPY - what does that mean?

I've seen a few with that stamp on the FEP. I'm not sure, but it may be a sort of file copy the publisher keeps for a while.

I've been a'googlin and got nowhere - lots of books with it printed in, but no definition. I'll go and ask Satnrose.

You've probably seen - Satnrose says it means, 'destroy'! Well, they oviously don't get destroyed, thank goodness. It was a book I really wanted and I got it quite cheaply.

Yes, an order rather than a description, but many of the references which I found when I searched used it as a description, e.g. "Well, if all you want is a pulp copy ..."

#1170 Mrs Bee, the term 'pulp' is used as in your example to describe the type of paper.

Paperback novels from the 1940s/50s and 60s are known as 'pulps' because of the low quality paper used.
