Unable to Bid

I have recently tried to bid on several items and I get the following message when enter a bid: 

! Attention Buyer

Unfortunately, this item isn’t available for purchase in your location. {e265116-1250494x}

I have been buying/selling for years and have now missed some items that I would have bought. 

I have checked my account setting and they seem to be correct.

Would you be able to include the item number?

Without seeing the listing for myself, my best guess would be that the seller has elected not to post to your location, which should be discernible from the shipping details.

Problem was never solved for me …. I haven’t been able to use eBay since 🤷

Hi a_christo, thanks for your reply.

I've just checked there, and I see no reports suggesting that buyers are not able to bid. Could you please tell me more about it? As in what error are you getting? Is it happening with one item only, or all items? If you could confirm if it is your first bid for the item or are you trying to bid again for the same item?

Hi Marco, I'm getting the same error message as others have reported, has been happening with every item I'm attempting to make an offer on or check-out for in the UK, and I'm in the UK.  All items were buy it now or make an offer, not traditional auctions. Last purchase I made successfully was on 16/6/25 so has happened for me at some point since then.  This happens on the website as well as mobile app (iOS). Error is

Thanks, no have a bank account and paypal setup, no actual card with an expiry date is setup on eBay for payments, and it doesn't get to that choose payment stage.  May well be a glitch/bug with location/region setting logic as to where the items can be bought from.

Try adding a Bank Card to the Managed Payments setup --- without that you may be blocked for BIN's and Offers.

That doesnt make sense on regular bidding -

for Offers and such are ebay insisting on a payment method so they will automatically rip a payment from the bidders bank account after a few days ? -

are ebay stopping accepting Paypal?

Hmm, that's not been a problem before, I use paypal for most of my purchases so comes out of a specific bank account (which doesn't have a card) which worked fine before and for my purchase a few days ago.

Oh so it is not for bidding is it? Is it only when you try to send an offer or purchase an item? If the last item you tried to purchase is still available, could you please confirm the item number, so I can take a look for you? Also, PayPal is still fine, you can try adding a card to see if the issue comes from your PayPal account, but if there are no issues with your PayPal account, all payment methods should work for you.

Ebay is checking boxes that I never wanted checked!!!! What doesnt sell today and tomorrow I will put a buy it now on them. Sorry about that, ebay is taking over my account (again)!

He couldnt find a solution - so the end of a long relationship twixt buyer and seller.

Thanks adding a card made no difference, still showing the same error. Some example items 274390265906,  277017962433 so doesn't appear paypal related (i.e. if I only have paypal setup for paying for items), but some kind of issue with how your platform is deciding where you can buy items from at least from my and other comments I've read. I am wonderering if this is just impacting some of us in the UK...

Check that the Seller hasn't blocked you using the 10 day setting here >
