In the last few days, it appears that someone has broken the listing descriptions functionality.
Here's an example of the issue.
If I type this exactly as you see it below:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum.
It displays exactly as you see it there, both on mobiles and a laptop.
However, if you add some colour to your text or want to make it into a bullet point list so that it stands out more - it will display fine on the laptop.
But on the mobile it will just display parts of your description and will not make any sense.
It seems that any formatting which adds HTML to your description - breaks it on mobiles.
eBay states that if your listing is less than 800 characters - it displays the whole thing on mobiles - and even with HTML added my description is still less than 800 characters but only a bit of it is shown.
Up until the last few days, you could add this HTML to your listings...
<div vocab="https://schema.org/" typeof="Product" style="display: none">
<span property="description">
....plain text mobile item description...
</span>
</div>
This would not be seen when viewing the full description - but would instead be shown in the description area when viewing on mobiles.
The beauty of it was that you could have a long 'full description' to accurately describe your item and then have a short mobile description which encourages viewers to view the full description.
However this has stopped working in the last few days.
Is there an eBay bug tracker I can report this to?
