Inconsistent prices - watch list vs item page

I'm sure this has only happened in the last few days.

Some items on my watch list have started showing different prices from those on the individual item pages.  It looks like they don't include the Buyer's Premium (Buyer's Fake Protection Racket fee) , even though it is included in the price shown on the item's own page.

Sold prices on ended items do include the fee, but those on the Bidding History list do not.

Nothing on ebay makes sense any more. I think they only owe their continued existence to their near-monopoly staus in the market...

Yes, seeing items inclusive of the BPF in some places, but not in others, is very confusing.

As you pointed out, auction prices include the fee, but when you check the bidding history, the fee is not included.

99p auctions now start at £1.75, and private sellers are having to adjust their prices, or put up with 'odd' prices. Not surprisingly, for some sellers, this has been the last straw.

This has changed the face of eBay, and not for the better...

Ah yes, those funny prices...

In over 20 years of using ebay, I had got used to ignoring listings with "odd" prices, because it has always indicated that they are currency conversions and the listings had somehow ended up being visible despite my selecting "located in UK only". Usually with the shipping costs being more (sometimes several times more) than the item price.

Exactly. I'm sure most buyers automatically associate 'odd' prices with other currencies, & barely glance at those items.

eBay must have been aware this is what private sellers prices would look like, with the BPF added on. So it's not just an unwelcome price rise, it's a weird-looking, unwelcome price rise...

You would think eBay would want to encourage buyers, not put them off!

Weird, today it's happening intermittently. For example, an item (from a private seller) is £40.00 on my watch list. Then after looking at some other items and going back to the watch list, it's changed to £42.32.

I wonder if ebay are using an AI system to write their software? It might explain why almost everything on the site is completely xxx'd up...
