Error message when trying to open drafts

For the last 2 days I've been unable to open my drafts. I get an error message saying 'unknown error', I've spoken to eBay twice and their advice is basically wait for it to be fixed. I am a business this seller so this is my job and I'm pretty much unable to work. I can list and edit them if I use the desktop site but it's glitchy and takes me about 3 times as long. Anyone have any idea why this may be happening or when it will be fixed?

I understand that this is one way but it's not great if you want to list an item that's not one of the five showing. If I have 50 drafts I would like to choose from that list of 50 not just the last five on the list.

You can keep scrolling through? I tried on the other account with 43 drafts and was able to scroll to the one I needed? 

Sorry if I seemed rude. It's just with posts like this, someone mentions an issue, then everyone who has the issue scrolls to the bottom to say they have the same issue and miss all the important stuff about resolving it. It's just to make people aware it can be done that way.

It didn't work for me either unfortunately. Ebay needs to provide a lomg
term solution. It's sellers that pay the fees. Do they even have a
competent technical team ?? Because this has been ongoing for over a month

It's all to do with eBay inheriting the old platform code and they've just added modules to it and tweaked a few bits rather than scrap it and start again.  

Unfortunately when the initial code isn't re-written from scratch and bugs/certain code lines aren't changed to work in sync, it's going to be a case of 1 tweak here or there = coded module problems in another area. 

For all we know they were trying to change the size of photos which may have worked but caused problems in another area like drafts. It's that tight knit with code and unless each module is totally isolated to not affect anything else should there be an error, things like this happen and it's quite the regular occurrence. 

Feedback was an issue before, then wrong address stuff and the site goes down several times daily.

Yes, this technique can be advanced by using in combination with the.com site , in my ebay .com , go to drafts , choose the draft you want to edit, then save it, 

That takes it to the 1st draft within the app scroll across window 👍

Yeah I can only access the last 5 drafts created doing this which is helpful but I'd say people have every right to complain. This issue keeps popping up and every time it does I don't get close to as much work done as I would when the app is functioning how it should be.

Further to my report last week regarding CONSTANT errors upon going into drafts in app or mobile browser site . This issue STILL persists. It's very frustrating & I refuse to re type & re do all these listings. They take time & it's unfair that Ebay had this issue since May with no resolve at all . As a 15 year power seller please explain WHY this is suddenly happening. Each listing is time consuming so I'd appreciate a full explanation of why nearly all my 118 drafts have this problem. I hope you rectify this as its deterring me from using the site to sell. The last agent stated that many other users experienced this. Therefore why is nothing being done ? I have uninstalled then reinstallled. Cleared cookies cache etc. This is a major problem tjat is causing me a lot of stress. Especially as Ive reported twice & its not fixed. I am losing faith in Ebay. This never happened in 15 years. So why now??

Same here. The uninstall/reinstall solved nothing. Still have same issue.

Despite having been 'issue free' since posting about uninstalling / installing the app, the issue is now back and as others have commented, the uninstall / install option doesn't make a difference.

Hello all, thanks for posting.

Our tech team is aware of the issue and currently working on it to resolve it. I have made them aware of all the users that have been impacted by this. While I don't have an exact time-frame as to when this will be resolved, the team is working on it to fix as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please try suggestions that have worked for other users - uninstalling and reinstalling the eBay app / scrolling down the selling page to the Drafts section.

It simply wouldn't work over any issue in this day and age. It's the same with clearing cookies and cache. 

Up until the mid 2000's there were reasons it could and sometimes did work with apps or installed programs (boring reasons I won't go into here). 

Nowadays, with uninstalling/reinstalling, things are digitally signed so if there's a problem, uninstalling and reinstalling will only install the same problems no matter what (compatibility issues or app bugs). It's a bit like if I gave you a £1 coin with a massive dent in it. Then you give it me back requesting another and I give you that same dented £1 back. The only way for that to be acceptable is if I sorted the dents out first. 

Doing that with the eBay app just means logging in again and potentially going through 2 factor authentication for no positive outcome.

Totally agree . I first reported this in May almost 5 weeks ago.  I had to redo 50 drafts ! Because uninstallimg reinstalling didn't work. For such a huge international company the technical team should up their game & fix this as its losing a lot of customers & tainting the selling experience.  When the app works OK they change something during the update which has a knock on effect.  Massive inconvenience

Apologies if this should be a different topic - but it's surely all related / connected...

New for today any photo's taken using the eBay app look blurry when uploaded, in addition there seems to be no actual option to edit them, despite the feature being there....

So using the phone camera app to take pictures, adding them to 1 of the 5 visible drafts then jumping onto the computer to make the listing live so there are still more visible drafts to use...    

Hopefully this will be addressed swiftly.

The fix for now is go to "selling" on app. Scroll down to drafts section (don't press drafts at the top). Then select the one you want (it's the section you have to scroll across). Should be fine there.

Thanks for the tip - have tried uninstalling and re-installing it but it's not working - still showing same error msg.  Such a pain having to bluetooth images from my phone to my Macbook - takes too long and is stopping me listing.   Anyone else have a Samsung phone - wondering if that may be thing?

It's now 2 MONTHS since the drafts " unknown error" bug/ glitch. Ebay still haven't resolved. It's ridiculous. 1000s of sellers affected. Causing so much inconvenience & NO FIX. The uninstalling / re installing does not work.  I've reported this 3 times incl screenshots & still waiting since May. Whys there no fix when you're a billion dollar company with what should be the best software engineers.  Absolutely ridiculous

You must have missed the workaround. 

You can scroll down below the first set of boxes with 'Active' - 'Sold' - 'Drafts' etc and then you see another option for Drafts. The links here do allow you to continue a draft
