Ebay send me the message about UK VAT.

Hi.

My location is Latvia and I have VAT number in European Union. I've sold product's worlvide.

Yesterday I receive message from Ebay about that I need to add UK VAT on ebay.co.uk

But the this is that my total amount that I sell on Ebay is max 500 - 600 GBP per month and from that only 100 - 200 to UK.

Why I shoud get UK VAT? When I open the link that Ebay send to me on the first page are information that you need to register VAT Nr in the UK if you have more than 90k GBP sell's in the year. 

I dot have even close for that amount.

Could someone explane this? I can't contact support agent. Only that stupit automatic robot.

This is because a number of your items are listed as "located in the UK" (well they say Riga, UK which is not possible)

If you have items located in the UK then you must register for UK VAT because it is the law

However, there is currently a glitch that changes the location of items to UK  and then triggers the UK VAT registration request. 

You need to revise the item location for item 146056684468 as the glitch has made the location Riga, Riga, UK , not Latvia.

Then you will need to contact CS and get the VAT request removed as it isnt automatic, you will need to explain that the glitch altered the location to Riga, UK (no such place in UK!!) and that you have now corrected this and do not need to register for VAT as all items are sold from Latvia.

If you go to the chat option and select Account Issues you should be able to speak to an agent

Sorry, I am not sure how it works on the Latvian site for contacting CS but that is how it works in UK

There is still a slight issue as when I search your item then select "UK only" it still brings up listings but they DO say they are from Riga Latvia

I see you have changed the listing that said Riga, Riga, UK but others are coming up in the search filter for UK despite the location being correct.

Thank you. Some time ago there was no problem to chat with agent. Now only they can call but to UK number.

A little secret..

If you select "account hacked" option you can normally get to speak to a person

Can you request a "call back"? This is the best option if available if you want to talk on the phone

try account issues or hacked account option to get a person to speak to

Using a UK Registered account to sell from Latvia ?... by Default you are considered to be a UK seller and subject to UK site rules/regulations. 

Consider using a Eurozone EU registered site or the International www.ebay.com site to prevent these issues.

Do you think that all sellers on ebay.co.uk are from UK? I sell products on UK Ebay from 2008. Don't know what chanche in 2024.
