Hi there, my username is olly_rob1810. I am unable to exchange any messages with a buyer on my recent sale. The buyer has paid, but all messages get flagged with an error. Please help! I can see other people have raised similar issues with ebay recently, so maybe this is a common problem.

The new Messages system does seem to be causing a variety of problems, so it is difficult to know what the cause of the error is in your case.
What does the error message say? Are you using a mobile or pc? Hopefully it will just be a glitch, and may have resolved itself by now.

Hi, the problem is still there. It occurs on phone and PC. On phone, the message sends and then about 5 seconds later it unsends and a screen pops up that says ‘Something went wrong, please try again’. On the computer, I just can’t send the message at all.

Hi, yes I am also having problem sending messages, click on message buyer and takes you to a page of nothing, hopefully it will reset it self overnight

There is currently an open issue with messages not delivering for some users. What is the error message you are getting when you try to send a message? If possible, can you send me screenshot of the error.

This is possibly related to an open issue we have with the messaging system. Do you receive any errors when you try to send a message?

Can you relay the message that the new system is not fit for purpose and to bring back the old system until the new system is fully checked for functionality with actual users.

There seems to be a couple of different errors popping up. That would be great if you can send me a screenshot, I'll forward it on the tech team as part of the report.

I've been reading through the different threads on the new messaging system. I don't believe it's possible to roll it back, but we have been passing all the feedback and comment from the threads to the site team. We are making sure they aware of any challenges you are reporting and it will help shape any future updates.

so if users have no confidence in messages being sent or received, then what will ebay do about the '4 days to pay' or cancelled order notice that seem to be sent very regularly .
Buyers sat waiting on an invoice, seller wondering why the buyer has not paid.
