Doing some item research and errors are starting to appear.

As a seller, we do frequent research on items in our field, using the Research tool. 
So in a recent search we noticed that some items that had sold that week, were giving off a weird result.
It seems that items that were selling were being tagged in research as being in violation of eBay rules.
I reached out on the Community Chat yesterday, 28th May and was told by marco@ebay to post said information on the open forum.
It seems strange that these items which eBay tag as "This listing has been removed for a policy violation" haven't been removed, are still on sale, are still selling today, yesterday, last week, last month and so on.
So its either a technical glitch on eBay's side stating that the items have been removed and they haven't, or the items should have been removed and it's a technical glitch on eBay's side in not removing said items.

Could it be identical /duplicate items it’s picking up on and that message is coming up for some reason

Nope, the listings I have aren't affected as both are distinct items - different designs/sizes/materials.

What the issue is that the research tool shows as these items from other sellers are items that should be removed, but haven't or that they state they have been removed and shouldn't state that as they are still for sale.

It's either a problem with the Research tool or the removal process by eBay.

Ah sorry I didn’t read your post properly

not much help here, maybe a glitch, maybe reused item numbers of things that had been removed 🤷🏼‍♀️

Regarding the items, due to them not being from your account, we can't discuss what's happening with them in terms of them being removed or not, reinstated or not, as those details can only be discussed with account holders for privacy and security reasons. However, I can definitely look into the banners in questions to see what's happening there, could you please confirm what exactly was the search/keywords you used in your research tool to get these results, so I can take a further look?

Sure. The search was for "personalised birthday banner* and I am happy not knowing what is happening as it is other sellers. I was just pointing out its either a glitch in the way eBay process the item stating that they have been removed when they haven't or its a glitch with eBay removing not removing items when they say the have been. As I said in the community chat.... when reporting such issues we get told that Trust & Safety will deal with it but never do.

marco@ebay - here are some more from sales this morning, Friday 30th. So these are sales today only for items that have sold just today, and I've blurred out the ones that dont show an error.

So is it that these items should have been removed for a policy violation and have not, and thus eBay is keeping items on sale that should've been removed OR is it that these items are still being tagged incorrectly as been guilty of a policy violation and as such might be being supressed in the search algorithm and eBay aren't taking notice of this despite myself pointing it out? Also these are not my listings so I have no issue, I'm just highlighting this and its either eBay not taking action in removal or such listings, or eBay not fixing an IT issue which has been pointed out. Upon checking it seems that all these listings belong to one seller, so it maybe that the issue lies there.
