Click & Drop & eBay SKU

As of today, Royal Mail Click & Drop is pulling through an entirely different SKU from eBay.  No idea where this new SKU is coming from but it means  have to manually apply weights & formats all over again.

Has eBay added new SKUs to items or is this a Royal Mail Click & Drop issue ?

Click & Drop & eBay SKU

Same thing happening to us, different SKU numbers from eBay. Rang eBay and click and drop, they are blaming each other.

Don't know what to do??

Hi @lamppostelectrical ,

Thank you for your post.

I will follow up with the shipping team to get it checked. Are you able to provide an example screenshot if possible?

Thank you,

Kat

Click & Drop & eBay SKU

Previously it pulled through the eBay item number as the sku

Now, it pulls through some random number which doesn't relate to anything on eBay as far as I'm aware...

This only applies on eBay orders and not on ones from other platforms.  I have raised this with Royal Mail as well.

Click & Drop & eBay SKU

Kat,

I should also add that it is creating a new sku for each individual item it pulls through.  So Click & Drop can't even store it for the next one.  I'm having to add weight to each individual sale.  It's not sustainable.

As I said, I don't know if it's an eBay issue, a Royal Mail issue or a combination of the 2 but it needs sorting urgently.

Kind Regards

We are also having this issue. Sudden change around the 4th March with C&D pulling random SKUs from Ebay instead of Ebay Item Number.

Absolute pain having to input weight and package size for every order, even those that are repeat sales after 4th March. We now have the same item entered into our product list on C&D 4 times, 3 times since the 4th.

kat@ebay

Is there an update on this please - really is becoming quite urgent now.  This morning I have to input over 150 weights individually.  It really is becoming unworkable to the point I'm considering whether it is worth continuing on eBay.

Received this from Royal Mail this morning.  Really good of eBay to let us all know they were changing things eh kat@ebay  !!

"eBay have made recent changes which has resulted in SKU numbers in orders not been pulled across with orders, you will need to update your product listing in eBay to ensure that each product has a SKU number then export your product listing has an SKU number then import the updated listing into Click and Drop.  eBay have provided the information below,

Products without a SKU in eBay
If your products in eBay do not have a SKU value added, we will still import them into Click & Drop, but we will create a SKU value for you so that Click & Drop is able to differentiate between the products. The SKU we create is usually made up of a combination of the product name and a unique identifier that eBay provide us.
Please note that the exact method of producing the SKU in this way is dependent on the data that eBay provide us, and so is subject to change. If the data does change, it could result in more than one product being created in Click & Drop for the same product in eBay. We recommend that you add SKUs to your products in eBay to avoid any potential issues with product creation.

As of 06.03.25 - to add a SKU to your products in eBay you can:
  1. Login to your eBay seller hub.
  2. Under the ‘Listings’ section go to ‘Active listings’.
  3. You will then see a list of your active products listed. Here you will see a column for ‘Custom label (SKU). If no SKU is listed here, you will need to edit the product.
  4. To edit, click Edit in the ‘Actions’ column to the left hand side of the product.
  5. You will then see your listing details. Under the ‘Title’ you should see a box for ‘Custom label (SKU)’, this is where you would enter the SKU.
  6. If you cannot see the field for ‘Custom label (SKU), then next to the ‘Title’ field, click the filter icon to see title options. You should then be able to turn on the option for ‘Custom label (SKU)’:

Click & Drop & eBay SKU

With so many listings, it would have taken ages to fill in all the SKU and then still have to re-weigh everything so I found a pretty quick solution.

I downloaded a csv file of all my listings into excel and then copied the item number into the SKU field (where they were blank).  Saved it and uploaded it back into eBay and the listings all updated and now pull through as they used to.

Hopefully this helps somebody
