Buyer opens case for item not received, you issue refund through it & then claim from carrier.

You have to refund buyer regardless of carrier claim.

Just to add that if you bought the postage on Ebay, you will have to lodge your claim with Packlink, not the actual carrier, as that is who you have the contract with.

Scroll down to seller centre...there you will find what to do And your responsibilities as a seller....

If you don't have a tracking number to show delivery, you'll need to refund your buyer.

You can claim from Royal Mail if you have a proof of posting slip from your Post Office.

If it is Royal Mail, you use the Proof of Posting to support the claim, but they will expect to see evidence that you have refunded the buyer. Claim can be completed on Line or by post, claim forms available at PO.
