i sold and expesinsive item to what looked like a very reputable buyer.  who paid right away.   Buyer then asked for it to be delivered to different address as current one was there old address.   Id never been asked to do this before though as it was being sent next day tracked via RM i tbh didnt think much of it.   once it was dispatched and couldnt be retreived buyer then messaged stating that there paypal had been hacked and they hadnt made purchase.   so in my mind for thst to happen there ebay, email and paypal would have to be hacked as i was corresponding with the buyer threw ebay messages.  they would have also had email and paypal notifications regarding purchase and payment confirmation etc.   buyer waited till it was dispatched to claim being hacked.   paypal currently investigating, but im beyond worried now as the item was expensive and i dont see how im going to get it back or get paid for it. ... Ebay is just another selling platform for us, it's not our only means of doing business.   When we dispatch goods, our internal system will send a copy of a customers VAT invoice via email. It will also update our carrier with the customer's email address, so our carrier can keep them informed of exactly what day and time a parcel will be delivered.   I have a problem with eBay in the respect that nowhere can I find this information in a notification of a sale.   Of course, the problems this creates for our internal processes goes without saying.   Where do I find a customer email details ?? ... A buyer from Europe asked me if I would post direct to her instead of going through the Global shipping service as the postage they were charging her was very high. I agreed so I accepted her offer but I am unable to send an invoice and amend the postage. I have read some of the posts on here and can see there is nothing I can do now. Buyer messaged me complaining that item is faulty 32 days after signed delivery date. Not sure whether or not to respond...and if yes, what with? Can they open a case against me? I already know how eBay is, and that they would side with the buyer. (Very rare that they don't...) I've also heard they can open a PayPal case after 180 days??   I'm a small seller and as of recently I've incurred a fair few losses due to buyers claiming item not recieved and I just refund or replace with no hassle.
