morning community my account was put on hold as they think its linked to another user

my account was placed on hold as they think its linked with another account and it isnt , i have googled the other user and its not registered any ideas community

This will be a problem I'm afraid!

Any link to another account,   then both incur the same restrictions if one has a batch of defects to bring them below selling standard.

Any idea who this account belonged to?  A family member?  A friend  ?  If it's a totally random account,  then  I'm afraid if they have a permanent restriction yours will have to.

Calling eBay CS ,  use the Help & Contact tab above,  is a problem now,  as their lines are down,  Live Chat is available from time to time,  you can try asking,  but they usually do not reveal any details of restricted connected accounts,  but they may tell you if it is a timed restriction or a permanent lifetime one.

There's nothing you'll be able to do at the moment, eBay CS is running on a skeleton staff.

When things are back to normal you can contact eBay and ask what you can provide to prove that your are not linked to the account, but don't hold your breathe as it's unlikely that eBay will allow you to continue trading, accounts don't get linked for no reason.

they havent closed it down and i was in contact with them as they increased my allowance but there saying its linked , but they continue to let me trade but not list anything new and also they giving me the option to open a new account but i feel this is unfair

Not sure this is a definitive answer for you, but as you are still allowed to have those items listed, after selling, post them promptly, show eBay you are a good eBayer, disassociated from any other ' bad' account. You may then be lucky and have your selling limits increased.

@wil-3058 If you open a new account to try and circumvent a restriction on an existing account you'll just get banned.

It won't help that you are clearly an unregistered business seller, now you are on ebay radar upgrade before they ban you for life.

If they are giving you the option to open another account...why don’t you open a business seller account so that you continue to sell your new stuff legally

All you need is a new ID and another email address, you can still use your PayPal account...
At the moment you have been selling illegally on eBay...private accounts are for those who have unwanted stuff from wardrobe, attic etc....
