ebay won't list my latest face mask because i am not an 'authorised seller' despite my 100% feedback

Despite my 15 year membership and 100% feedback,  ebay won't let me list my latest face mask. they say it's because I am not an authorised seller. What is an authorised seller? How do I become one?  Why have they allowed my last 8 listings?

Face-masks can only be sold by established business sellers, and by those business sellers that were selling face-masks before Covid-19 was even known about. Why, you ask...? Because profiteering from human tragedy and disasters is strictly forbidden by UK law.

Be aware too that private accounts are ONLY for those clearing out their homes of their no-longer-wanted possessions. Anyone who makes, grows, refurbishes  or buys in (new or used) item to sell, is a business and must be registered as such. Not only an Ebay requirement, but THE LAW. For confirmation got to Ebay's Seller Centre. For full information, go to the government's website. And note that there is no such thing as a 'hobby seller' in this country, and how much or how little you sell or make is totally irrelevant.

Two things could be causing you problems.

You are producing quantities of masks looking at your previous listings and mention the word "Virus".. But you appear to be registered as a private seller but your activities make you a unregistered business seller.

And eBay quite rightly are restricting listings of face masks from sellers who are unauthorised.. And as a private seller the first thing to do would be register as a business, but even then the chances of getting authorisation at this time are very slim.

My advice has to be don't try and relist by using a incorrect category or removing the offending word as this could result in account suspension.
