I sold a large mirror to be collected in my city.
After the sale I asked my buyer if he would collect it from a car park near my house .
I do not have street parking.
He messaged me back and said
" Hello Sorry I am not meeting anyone in strange car parks, cancel order"
I messaged back and asked "where he would like to meet"
no reply so messaged again to arrange a road very near my house ,and also explained because of covid did not want anyone in my enclosed porch or house
no reply so asked if I asked if he would respond to my messages
nothing
what do I do now?
You don't want anyone in your porch or in your house...? So why the heck did you list an item for collection...? In fact, why are you listing collection items at all during a pandemic...?? That makes zero sense.
I wouldn't meet you in a car-park either - collection items are for collection from your home. If you refuse to accommodate the buyer as he naturally expected when he bought from you, cancel the transaction as requested. That's the least you can do after messing him about in this way.
Personally I would think that was a good way of collecting. It's a shame your buyer can't see it. He could take someone with him if he felt nervous about it but I don't think it would be any more unsafe than going into a stranger's house.
However, if he has said he wants to cancel ask him to send you a cancellation request, which he can do from his purchase page, and you cancel using 'Buyer asked to cancel'. This will give you your selling fees back, but if he has paid you won;t get your Paypal fees back.
Seller will be automatically refunded.
Go to More Actions, far right of item on your sold page > Cancel order > Something wrong with buyer's address, which is the nearest one to this situation as it's possible they are too far away to collect anyway. If they've paid the refund will be issued automatically.
