What to do if a buyer does not close an ebay claim?

Hi all

My first question ever here as I have my first ever claim against me in 20 years!

I had a feeling this was going to happen, it was a foreign buyer and the delivery address given was a container storage unit in London. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, silly me.

The buyer has unsurprisingly opened a case for "non-received goods", but I have the proof of posting and a scan of the proof of delivery from the Royal mail Track and Trace website. I have given him the tracking number and delivery details but he has gone silent, not closed the case and and Paypal has suspended my money.

How long before this claim times out and Iget my money back?

Is there still a chance Ebay finds against me as the case now says "awaiting buyer action". What more action can the buyer take if I have proof of delivery?

You needed to have added the tracking to the case details when the case was opened. Did you do this? You may well have sent him the details but unless ebay can see the tracking showing delivered within the case you will lose.

If you've added the tracking which shows delivered you should win the case. Ebay should close it in your favour.

I'm 99% certain I did, there was a box to enter tracking details and I added the Royal Mail reference to that, thats why I am puzzled Ebay is still showing the case as "open" and "awaiting buyer response".

I have been on the Ebay site to try and open the details summary but its pages are not working very well at the moment, must be in meltdown approaching Christmas mixed with lockdown.

However I managed to get on the resolution centre and open "details" whereupon I have just read the following:

"You added tracking details
Thanks. We'll let the buyer know that you added tracking details for this item."

Am I OK now?

Sorry I'm a bit of a doofus with this kind of thing, but I think its only the third nasty person I have encountered on Ebay in 21 years of buying and selling. I must have been quite lucky.

Luckily they are few and far between. It sounds like you added the tracking so the case should close in your favour.
