What happens if a buyer ignores my offer of a partial refund?

I had a request from a buyer for a refund about a month after originally receiving the item.  This came about after a bit of dialogue back and forth, as I disputed some aspects of the issues they'd raised.

Using the returns option I offered a partial refund, but this was now over a week ago and they have neither accepted or rejected it.

What happens if they simply ignore it?  I am presuming it reverts back to the original refund request and I send shipping label and follow the process to get the item back etc, but I just want to check I'm not missing anything here, which could result in me having to issue the refund but they still keep the item.

Thanks in advance

If the buyer fails to respond to the case and does not escalate the matter to eBay to get them to step in and force a total refund then after thirty days the case will automatically time out.  If the case does indeed time out then the buyer will not be able to open another case in the eBay Resolution Centre in relation to the same transaction.

If you have not already done so by the time you read this reply add the buyer's User ID to your Blocked Bidders List so as to prevent any further problems with this buyer in the future.  To access your Blocked Bidders List click on this link https://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?bidderblocklogin and a big white box will appear on the screen.  Add the buyer's User ID to that white box, click on the Submit button beneath it and from that point onwards the buyer will no longer be able to buy anything else that you list for sale on the site.

If they do nothing at all the return case will eventually expire.  If they ignore the offer and escalate the case to ebay you would have to issue the return label and give full refund after the item has been sent back.   If they don't send the item back after escalation the case will expire.
