VAT applied for item in UK

Hello friends,

back in 2003 I've created an account on ebay.it. We moved in UK 2 years ago so I've changed my location and addresses to my current position (I had to do it from ebay.it). I'm now selling my old laptop but it states that a 20% VAT will be applied, even if my account and the item are in UK. The item will be sold in UK solely.

I'm wondering if there's anything else to change? Have I to contact Customer Care?

Changing your Based location Address to the UK, does not change your Country of Registration which remains = Italy.

Your Country of registration needs to be transferred to the UK to avoid EU/UK VAT import/export problems ...  Customer Service can transfer your account registration from Italy to the UK whilst you are on the Phone/Live Chat >
