I recently sold my old car here. The seller came and, After deciding it was acceptable to start haggling, THEN telling me to lie to ebay that he didn't turn up so I "didn't have to pay their fees" he paid in cash, Signed all the paperwork then took the car away. I marked the sale as paid, then Ebay started pestering me about posting the item. I've looked everywhere but can't find any box to tick to say that he's already physically collected the car.
You hear so many horror storys about crooked buyers ripping sellers off here these days, and several things about this sale felt slightly off to me (At one point when he started haggling I was so close to telling him the sale was off and turn him away ! Telling me to defraud Ebay and haggling already ment he'd broke ebays terms), So I don't want to just mark it as posted in case there's some way the seller could say "Didn't arrive" and then claw the money back via Paypal (Don't know if that's even posible, But don't want to take the risk without knowing for sure).
So, Does anyone know how I can tell ebay that he's paid in cash, got the car, and the transactions compleate?
On a PC/laptop you can mark as payment received and item dispatched via More Actions, far right of item on your sold list. That's on classic view. If you are on the seller hub page click on the item, then top left > Mark as Dispatched.
As he paid cash there is no way of clawing the money back.
